BRIDGE – Basic Readiness and Individual Development of Great EMTs in EMS

Let us BRIDGE you with increased team leader and patient care skills while understanding how to operate equipment and navigate through the role. We value the importance of Basic Readiness and Individual Development of Great EMTs in EMS. Southern California’s only EMS transition program! This is offered free of charge and totals 24 hours of education.

BRIDGE is a 3-day program created to help newer EMTs and those making the transition from school to the EMS field increase their skill and confidence. Those who enroll in the training will stand out as candidates when applying for EMS jobs. They will be able to work efficiently and confidently to treat patients in a safe and effective manner while demonstrating clinical excellence. Some of the BRIDGE topics offered are not limited to: Vitals, Code 3 Practices, Gurney Operations, Documentation, and Communication exercises.

FIELD – Focus in EMS Leadership and Development

Our award-winning FIELD program educates aspiring EMS leaders in essential management and leadership skills.

Each candidate will complete a rigorous weekly full-time curriculum including:

  • 2 EMS field operation shifts
  • 1 Specialty Shift – highlighting their individual knowledge, experience, and contribution to the organization.
  • 1 Shadow in Training shift – Offering mentorship from an organizational leader.
    • Each candidate will have a view into all aspects of the EMS business including; Field Operations, dispatch, revenue cycle management, business practices, people operations, recruitment, and training and education.

Our inaugural cohort began July 2022. The strength and success of the program is demonstrated by our multiple promotions and our recent California Ambulance Association Service Excellence Award 2022.

START – Scene Management, Teamwork, Assessment, Response and Training

This amazing program includes micro-lectures and a beneficial hands-on learning experience using lifelike simulation mannequins that will equip our EMTs in responding to, caring for patients, and remaining safe on a 911 scene.

ABM – Assessment Based Management Program

This amazing program includes micro lectures and a beneficial hands-on learning experience using lifelike simulation mannequins that will equip our EMTs on responding to, caring for patients, and remaining safe on a 911 scene.

NAEMT Courses – All NAEMT classes are accredited by CAPCE

Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS)

AMLS is appropriate for EMTs, Paramedics, and other prehospital providers

AMLS is the gold standard of education for emergency medical assessment and treatment. Endorsed by the National Association of EMS Physicians, AMLS emphasizes the use of the AMLS Assessment Pathway, a systematic tool for assessing and managing common medical conditions with urgent accuracy. 16 hours of CAPCE credit

Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)

PHTLS is appropriate for EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physician assistants, physicians, and other prehospital providers

PHTLS is recognized around the world as the leading continuing education program for prehospital emergency trauma care. The mission of PHTLS is to promote excellence in trauma patient management by all providers involved in the delivery of prehospital care.
PHTLS courses improve the quality of trauma care and decrease mortality. The program is based on a philosophy stressing the treatment of the multisystem trauma patient as a unique entity with specific needs.
PHTLS is the global gold standard in prehospital trauma education and is taught in 64 countries.

Geriatric Education for EMS (GEMS)

GEMS courses are appropriate for EMTs, paramedics, emergency medical responders, nurses, physician assistants and physicians.

GEMS provides EMS practitioners at all levels with the skills and knowledge to address the unique medical, social, environmental and communications challenges of older adults.
GEMS empowers EMS practitioners to help improve medical outcomes and quality of life for geriatric patients.
Two GEMS courses are offered – a core and advanced course. They may be offered separately or sequentially

EMS Safety

EMS Safety is appropriate for any EMS practitioner

EMS Safety teaches students how to protect themselves and their patients while on the job. It promotes a culture of safety and helps reduce the number of on-the-job fatalities and injuries. EMS Safety is the only national, comprehensive safety course for EMS practitioners.

8 hours of CAPCE credit

AHA – American Heart Association – All AHA Courses except for HeartSaver are accredited by CAPCE

HeartSaver CPR / AED / First Aid

HeartSaver is appropriate for EMRs, Teachers, Public, Community Leaders, Parents and anyone who wants to be prepared in emergency situations.

HeartSaver courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for a job, regulatory (for example, OSHA), or other requirements. These courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.

4 hours of CEUs / Recertification: 2 hours of CEUs

Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR

BLS CPR is appropriate for EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physician assistants, physicians, and other prehospital providers

The BLS Course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and provide early use of an AED.

4 hours of CEUs / Recertification: 2 hours of CEUs

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

ACLS is appropriate for EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physician assistants, physicians, and other prehospital providers

This advanced course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR. This advanced course highlights the importance of high-performing team dynamics and communication, systems of care, recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, immediate post-cardiac arrest, acute dysrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes (ACS).

8 hours of CEUs / Recertification: 4 hours of CEUs

ACLS – Experienced Provider

ACLS is appropriate for EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physician assistants, physicians, and other prehospital providers

ACLS for Experienced Providers goes beyond the core ACLS training by offering critical thinking opportunities for those advanced, experienced, healthcare professionals who use ACLS on a regular basis. The goal of ACLS EP is to improve outcomes in complex cardiovascular, respiratory, and other (e.g., metabolic, toxicologic) emergencies by expanding on core ACLS guidelines and encouraging critical thinking and decision-making strategies.

6.75 hours of CAPCE credit

LifeLine EMS offers several different career pathways within EMS; Field Operations, Communications, Fleet Management, Administration, Business Development,
and Finance.
