Principles of Ethics and Personal Leadership (PEPL)

This course is appropriate for EMTs, paramedics, other mobile healthcare practitioners, and emergency responders. PEPL is CAPCE accredited 16 hrs.

PEPL is a 16-hour course that provides EMS and Mobile Healthcare (MHC) practitioners at all levels with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively interact with patients and their families, other medical personnel, co-workers, supervisors and community residents at large.
Through course presentation, dialogue, and learning activities, including written and video case studies, students will explore the importance of ethics and personal leadership, identify their leadership roles in civic life as individuals, family members, professionals, and members of the community, and practice the skills important to the exercise of personal, ethical leadership.

16 hours of CAPCE credit

FTO Development

This course is appropriate for EMTs, paramedics, other mobile healthcare practitioners, and emergency responders. PEPL is CAPCE accredited 16 hrs.

The FTO Leadership Training program is rooted in a proven concept called FTEP. FTEP or Field Training evaluation Program focuses on objectively measured criteria for clearance of New Hire candidates rather than a subjective view. This competency-based system allows for bidirectional, transparent feedback to ensure appropriate communication and progress for the New Hire Candidate.

16 hours of CAPCE credit

FIELD – Focus in EMS Leadership and Development

Our award-winning FIELD program educates aspiring EMS leaders in essential management and leadership skills.

Each candidate will complete a rigorous weekly full-time curriculum including:

  • 2 EMS field operation shifts
  • 1 Specialty Shift – highlighting their individual knowledge, experience, and contribution to the organization.
  • 1 Shadow in Training shift – Offering mentorship from an organizational leader.
    • Each candidate will have a view into all aspects of the EMS business including; Field Operations, dispatch, revenue cycle management, business practices, people operations, recruitment, and training and education.

Our inaugural cohort began July 2022. The strength and success of the program is demonstrated by our multiple promotions and our recent California Ambulance Association Service Excellence Award 2022.
